On December 3rd, Dick Ryan and Robert Duval, president and vice-president of the Blue Sea Lake Watershed Association, presented the Association's 'Environmentally Responsible Action' certificate to the Village Récréotouristique Majopial in recognition of its policy of excluding pyrotechnical displays from celebratory and promotional activities. Accepting the certificate on behalf of the organization, Sophie Karn indicated that it would be displayed proudly in Majopial's l'Huile d'Olive Restaurant.
The Association contracted ABV des 7 to carry out a survey to determine the extent and location of Eurasian Milfoil beds infesting Blue Sea Lake. According to the survey, mono-specific Eurasian milfoil beds cover over 500,000 sq. metres of the lake bottom.
